Workshop "Integration Engineering"

held at the annual meeting 2009 of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI)*

(*) Society for Computer Science

Call for Paper

System integration is a challenging task which is ever-present in work processes with distributed tasks. Despite existing integration approaches such as Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) or Service oriented Architecture (SOA) the integration of information systems and their alignment with business processes still remain an ongoing problem.

Goal of this workshop is to cover integration in a broader sense than EAI and SOA and to contribute to the formation and evaluation of principles, auxiliaries, methods, and tools supporting an engineering process for integration solutions. A particular focus is drawn on novel software development paradigms like Model-Driven Software Engineering.

The workshop should serve as a discussion and communication platform. Scientists and practitioners are invited to participate in the workshop, presenting and discussing relevant problems, solutions. We aim at supporting the presented work and developing new starting points for problem solutions and fostering cooperation between industry and science.

The topics of the workshop include but are not limited to:

  • Integration architectures
  • Integration patterns
  • Model-Driven Integration Engineering
  • Integration modelling
  • Prodecure models / process models of Integration Engineering
  • Integration as a Service (influence of Services Science on Integration Engineering)
  • Usage of semantic technologies for integration
  • Integration products
  • Integration tools
  • Lightweight or minimally invasive integration methods
  • Integration within small and medium sized enterprises
  • Integration and Enterprise Architecture

Submission and Publication

The papers should be submitted electronically as PDF documents and follow the LNI style. Style information and templates for MS-Word and LaTeX can be found at: http://www.gi-ev.de/service/publikationen/lni/. German as well as English papers are allowed and should not exceed 15 Pages. Please find the conference system for your submission here: https://www.itm.uni-luebeck.de/conftool-gi09

All accepted papers will be published in the LNI proceedings with a one page abstract and the full paper attached on a data carrier. The GI proceedings are DBLP listed.
